Yes there are
There is a parking lot that can park 7-8 cars opposite the store.
Can not pay by credit card
There is no such thing. More than recommended by the owner I just like regular buckwheat noodles.
It is possible to place an order that do not leek. Ask the clerk when order.
No problem
Best soup!I was wondering at Otaru in the afternoon and manage to find this place. Is a 5 stars. Staffs are so polite! They have English menu and after your soba, they serve a hot water to mix with your soba soup. They only have one dessert. Soba ice cream!! Serve together with a soba tea! It was so good!! Traditional soba restaurant, grating wasabi first time in my life! Try it with no regrets in Otaru!
This is a traditional Japanese restaurant specializing in Soba. My wife and daughter took it while I ordered Katsedon. We like them, although can't say they are the best we have tried. But the soup, or water, which is leftover from boiling the soba, is very good. Last but not least, we like the traditional setting. The facade is also good for picture taking at night.
Delicious foods with warm service, the price of the foods are not expensive. Highly recommend it!
I highly recommend this place if you wanna eat Soba in Otaru. Not far from the station, traditional style, English friendly, good food, lots of choices and not expensive!!!I took the Wariko Soba - three dishes. Delicious.
Was browsing over google on the highest rated restaurants near Otaru and this one came up on the list. Arrived here at around 11 pm and aside from my family, there was only a local grandma and pa inside. At first I was a bit skeptical since highly rated restaurants in Japan are usually jam-packed at that hour. But the reviews certainly didn't fail me, I ordered the shrimp tempura hot soba and we were given the option of having locally sourced soba noodles or one with flour from USA mixed with it, of course we went with the purely Japanese soba! Taste was great, texture was really al dente, just how I like my noodles. Tempura batter was also great! Definitely a 10/10!
Tasty food
We went to Yabuhan Soba on recommendation by a friend who had been there previously. Didn't disappoint. Thankfully we got in before the dinner crowd. More locals than foreigners, though it did help they some of the waitresses speak basic English, and they have an English menu. They have quite a wide variety of both hot soba and cold Soba, so we had one of each. We had the local Hokkaido Soba (apparently there apparently there 2 choices of Soba for the same dish, the other one being a slightly cheaper imported soba ), was prepared to perfection.
Wonderful soba noodles. It's a very popular restaurant and you may need to wait half an hour for a table but it's definitely worth the wait. There is a beautifully translated English menu including information about the source of ingredients (buckwheat from nearby Rankoshi) and clearly marked vegan and vegetarian options.
Traditionally Soba served in a very traditional looking restaurant. The signature dish here is the cold soba. ***Reminder: Slurp up the soba as loud as possible if you are enjoying it. This is the true Japanese way of showing your appreciation of the good soba served.
Highly recommend the cold soba with jimonoko noodles. Best soba place in Otaru!
Many varieties of soba and price is reasonable.
Great Soba. Extensive menu in English. Must visit.
If you are a foreigner visiting and have food allergies or limitations, this is by far the best place I've seen in my whole trip. They have a very extensive English menu including how to eat soba noodles if it's your first time. The shop seems quite popular, as there was a line forming at lunch when we went.Every meal in the menu is clearly coded on whether it has soy, gluten or allergens, I don't need it but I commend them for it, only shop I've seen to do that so clearly! The noodles were delicious, had a duck soup and really enjoyed it!
Really delicious handmade soba noodles, both springy and smooth. I like the fact that they include an English how-to-guide on savoring soba noodles. After eating cold soba noodles, drinking a hot soba yu gives a warm fuzzy feeling especially in Hokkaido's cold weather. This place can be a little crowded and one may need to queue for quite some time.
Arrived before the lunch time so I got a table right away, I enjoy my soba but more is tempura.
Great soba in an old Japanese house. From soba noodle, soup, ambience to and service, all provided a wunderful experience.
Best soba in Hokkaido! This is the best soba i ever eat, very recommended in Hokkaido, and you should visit hereee, located near Otaru JR station, only a walking distance…-----------------------------------------------Taste:✦✦✦✦✦Price: $$$Portion Size: MediumSharable: YesRecommendation level: ✦✦✦✦✦
Good food, tourist friendly
Traditional soba. Very tasting and cozy place.
Excellent soba tasted in a quiet Zen place.
Great traditional soba resteraunt. Very popular with local crowd so be prepared for a potential wait. We arrived at 6 and had to wait about 20 mins and when we left the line was much longer. I ordered the soba curry which was big and cheap. My girlfriend had the mushroom soba which was also great. Half the seating is on the ground on the small tables so be prepared for that. Service is very good with English speaking waiters and a very descriptive menu with allergy info in English also. Highly recommend visiting this place for an authentic Japanese dining experience.
Great experience and awesome soba! Never a big fan of soba, But this store is pretty unique in taste and ambiance! Would highly recommend this place to y’all:) great for English tourist, as there’s menu and instruction manual on how to eat soba and what to mix with! Give a thumbs up if this is helpful!!!!
Wonderful!Silky uni soba brought sea taste, I mean could feel very fresh sea breeze. Was a pleasant experience! The most delicious dish for me was the very basic zaru soba of this restaurant.Noodle itself could be a bit normal but after putting it into the dipping sauce, the taste was boomed up! There were enough tables but the most of peoples should wait outside for a long time. Despite of this, our lunch was good enough!
Must visit Soba shop in Otaru. They have free car park lots opposite the shop.
Great food, good prices, very English friendly. Restaurant was in a traditional building among modern buildings which was very cool. Staff are friendly and professional. Menu also notes which items are vegan, vegetarian, have sodium or sugar and more.
One of the best (if not the best) Soba in Otaru with reasonable price. After your meal, they will serve you with Soba-Yu which is the water used to boiled the noodles. It is known to contains lots of nutrients from the Soba.Highly recommend, except ordering the side dishes. It's too small (one mouthful) for a plate. Kind of expensive for the price.
Very good Soba noodles restaurant. You are able to have the local style soba in here. By the way enjoy your soba-yu after you finish your meal.
Good food with great services overall but still could be improved further. The location was quite tricky however there was a parking space provided right in front of the shop
Good service and high quality soba. Wait half an hour for lunch at least.
Amazing food! Vegan options are phenomenal. They also have nut free, gluten free, sugar free vegetarian, and other allergens listed with an English menu. The servers speak minimal English as well. Starts at 550 for soba
If you want to try the best soba you must try this restaurant
Cold soba excellent and service staff very friendly and polite. Price also reasonable. Will return again should we visit Otaru again.
Might convert you into a soba lover if you are not one already. Service was excellent and the sobayu tea is more like a nice refreshing soup. Visited on saturday dinner at 6:30pm with no waiting time.
The soba ordered here was really nice. Definitely above average and the portion size is good.
One of the best soba in my life. Tempura is delicious as well.
Great food. Had to wait quite a while for the food.
Chanced upon this. Such a rare gem tucked amongst the hotel. Love the cold soba in hot duck soup.
Tried cold and hot soba,The cold soba is much better in our opinion, tempura is greatHot soba is not bad, but the ricecake/mochi in the soba is not that flavorableEnglish menu available with lot of options
Yuuummmmm! Soba is super springy, great duck soba - not too salty. Interesting small dishes - fried tofu for example.
This place serves both vegetarian and vegan options. Both the soba and ramen are a must try, they have vegetarian tempura as well. Dine here twice during my short stay in Oatru as it is within walking distance from my hotel (Dormy Inn). Highly recommend for it's quality of food and traditional setting. Please go early as it's always pack with both locals and tourist.
Tasty food. Really affordable. I definitely recommend this restaurant !
Fantastic soba. Reccomend to have their cold soba.
Warm place! Cold soba with Yam is a perfect match. After the meal, they will serve you with the “soba-yuâ€, it was my first time to taste! Nice ending for the dinner.
Best soba ever~ Kind staff, English menu too.
Best soba I've tried in Japan!
Food was great. We shared the deep fried tofu as a starter, I had the duck soba noodles whilst my partner had the tempura vegetable soba noodles, and we both very much enjoyed our meals. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating!
Soba was nice. Service could be improved.
MUST TRY IF YOU VISIT OTARU!! Delicious soba, tried both hot n cold soba and i recommend the cold one! The noodle is Q and chewy, the best soba that I have eaten. Seaweed is crunchy even after dipping into the soba sauce. Dont forget to drink the soba-yu after eating to warm your stomach especially if you are visiting during cold weather.
Long waiting line during lunch time. Had to wait for around an hour. Soba wasn't bad and the employees were kind enough not to complain. But not sure about being worthy of such a long wait. Better try a bit early or late meal.
Quality of the soba noodles were superb. Definitely worth the one hour wait that we had. Surprisingly the tamago was the best dish that we ate; a must have!
